About Me
Who are you?
My name is Sean, I live on the East Coast of the US. Besides PC gaming, my other hobbies include watching movies & TV shows, upgrading my PCs when needed, making art for my channel, and social media, merch, and collecting anything Fallout-related.
As part of who I am, I have lived with a condition called Dyslexia all my life. Now as an adult with dyslexia, I find it hard to write down my thoughts. If you do not know or understand what it is, here is what is found in a
Google search.
Adult Dyslexia: A learning difference that affects how the brain processes written language, leading to difficulties with reading, spelling, and writing.
This also affects the ability to manage money, stay organized, and understand social cues.
This may help anyone wondering why it takes me so long to upload a video and why I don't edit most of my videos. My time management is really bad and it doesn't help I like being lazy. 😎
Gaming
How did I get into gaming?
The TRDL: I was in my early twenties visiting my grandmother's house, when on this particular Saturday morning Charlotte, NC's channel 18. (which btw, had the best cartoons and anime shows I just didn't know it was called Anime at the time). While watching Star Blazers a live-action commercial for Resident Evil 2 was broadcast that caused my eyes to bleed from pure enjoyment.
From there I started my gaming journey playing Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, Resident Evil: Code Veronica, and many more.
Other games I've played are Need for Speed, SOCOM Navy Seals, Halo, Battlefield, and Call of Duty. It wasn't until my mid-thirties that I played my very first RPG, called Fallout 3. Man, this game caused my world to open up. When the door opened up, I took my first steps outside Vault 101. Nothing could have prepared me for the journey I was about to embark on
YouTube/Streaming
How did you get into YouTube/Streaming?
I had moved from the coast of North Carolina to the Sandhills of South Carolina and made a very good friend who like me was a gamer. We talked about games and he told me about YouTube and how popular Call of Duty videos had become. After watching a few videos I bought a laptop (which was not the best choice at the time). And found some software and a capture card to record some gameplay. I had no idea how to edit but I learned and my channel gained a few hundred followers but it didn't last. My inability to understand the YouTube platform and lack of skill at Call of Duty I found IU was only repeating what everyone else was doing. That's when I found Let's Plays.
Let's Plays was for those who wanted to share the single-player playthroughs of their gameplay experience with others. But at the time you had to be part of a network to have permission to upload video gameplays as it was not as widly acceppted as it is now. Oh you could do it not being part of a network but you took a chance your channel would be flagged or shut down as YouTube didn't want the heat as they were already dealing with the RIAA.
One of the games I had always wanted to play was an MMORPG called World of Warcraft my friend told me about Swifty one of the OG WoW content creators on YouTube if I wanted to learn about the game he was one I should watch along with Asmongold who at that time had the best gold making guide around. Then one day I was watching one of Swifty's videos and he was talking about live streaming on JustinTV and how he wanted to use a greenscreen to edit out his background so you could see more of the game.
It wasn't long after this that JustinTV became Twitch and I was researching how to stream on my POS of a laptop. The internet connection here wasn't the best ( I think it was around 20mbs down and 5mbs Up). My first and only stream during that time due to computer and internet issues I did have five people watching me play DayZ at 480p even as bad as it was.
Fast forward eleven years later and I'm sitting here typing on a high-powered computer that makes my old laptop look like a paperwight.
Since my first stream so much has changed. You used to only have one place to live stream called Twitch. Now you can live stream on YouTube, Facebook, Kick, X (formally known as Twitter), and many other smaller platforms. The best part is you don't have to choose just one anymore you can stream to all of them with the help of platforms like Restream.io, Streamlabs, and/or StreamElements. With a new one starting up every day, the best part is you don't have to have only a PC. You can live stream from a console now like a PlayStation 5 or Xbox S/X if you want.
As for me I will be sticking with my PCs even tho now you can do it all from one computer if you have the right parts.
